Gate Valves

A gate valve opens and closes with a wheel that raises or lowers a gate. It takes several turns, which stops sudden water hammer, and when fully open it barely slows the flow. Use it for main lines and tank outlets, left fully open or fully closed.

Ball Valves (Lever Valves)

A ball valve opens or closes with a quarter turn of the lever. It is quick, seals tightly and is easy to see whether it is open or shut. Use it for isolating appliances, pumps and branches. For PPR ball valves, see the PPR price list.

Float Valves (Ball Cocks) for Tanks and Cisterns

A float valve fills a tank or toilet cistern and shuts off automatically when the water reaches the set level. Choose the size to match the inlet pipe. Steel-arm valves last longer on high-pressure mains.

Foot Valves

A foot valve goes at the bottom of the suction pipe of a surface pump. It holds the water in the pipe so the pump stays primed, and its strainer keeps out debris.

Non-Return (Check) Valves

A non-return valve lets water flow one way only. Fit one after a pump to stop water flowing back and to protect the pump.
