Biodigester Prices by Size

Two Different Things Called "Biodigester"

• Sewage biodigester (septic tank replacement): toilet and kitchen waste flows in, bacteria break it down without oxygen, and the treated water flows out to a soak pit. It needs no electricity and far less emptying than a septic tank. This is what most homeowners in towns mean.

Looking After a Biodigester

1. Do not flush sanitary pads, diapers, wipes, plastics or rags. They do not break down.
2. Avoid pouring large amounts of bleach, strong disinfectants or oil into the drains. They kill or slow down the bacteria.
3. Keep rainwater gutters out of the system so it is not flooded.
4. Have it inspected when the installer recommends, and de-sludge only when needed.
