Ultra Filtration (UF): For Municipal Water

UF uses a membrane with larger pores than RO. It removes sediment, bacteria and viruses but keeps dissolved minerals, and it does not need a storage tank or waste much water. Is RO better than UF?

Neither is better in every case. RO removes dissolved salts and fluoride, which UF cannot. UF is enough for municipal water that only needs germs and sediment removed.
